Which survival games are on PS5?
Where to find console survival games
PS5 survival games are often listed in the PlayStation Store under survival, adventure, or indie categories. Some are full console editions of PC games, while others are built specifically for controllers. Look at the platform note on each listing, since a game may be available on PC and console with different features or updates.
Release timing matters too. A game may arrive on PS5 months after its PC launch, and some titles receive console updates later than others. Read the patch notes to see whether the version you buy is current.
Picking a good console title
Controller support is the main difference between good and frustrating console survival games. Try to watch gameplay footage that shows building menus and inventory management, since those can be awkward with a controller. Check whether the game supports split screen or online play if you want to share the experience.
Remember that console purchases are often tied to your account, so read the store details on cross buy or cross save options before you commit.
Check the age rating and content notes too, since some survival titles include intense combat or mature themes that may not suit younger players.
- Browse the survival and crafting categories
- Check the platform note on each listing
- Watch footage of menus and inventory use
- Confirm cross save and online options
Common mistakes
- Assuming a PC mod or feature will be available on console.
- Buying a game without checking whether its console version is current.
